The current limitation of 2 bike racks per Metro bus substantially limits the bike/bus option for a significant portion of Angelenos. In addition, the cut back of Metro services restricts those that rely on Metro to those who have convinient pedestrian access to bus stops. More people would take advantage of the local bus services if they had a more convenient access to bus stops. Adopting the successful model of park and ride facilities to local Metro routes by adding a substantial amount of bike racks could help expand the ridership, while helping those of limited income. Plus, its a pretty cost effective improvement.
