It seems most major cities extend their public transport systems into their major airports. This does not seem to be the case with LA and LAX. I realize we have two mass transit systems for airport transportation. The FlyAway Bus and the Green Line. While the FlyAway bus system is adequate and my experience has been that it is reliable to get you to LAX, it is prone to surprising fare increases and subject to normal everyday traffic problems. I have not taken the Green Line, the one metro line that gets the closest to LAX. The biggest reason I have not taken the Green Line is that stops so far from the terminals to make it an unsuited mode of transportation for catching a flight. Ideally it would be great to have a metro line connect every major area in the LA directly to LAX (and neighboring airports). However, can we at least have a line that runs directly from Union Station into LAX - within walking distance of the terminals?
