Create a city-wide bike-sharing system such as those in the UK, France, and even Washington DC. Wide-scale construction of Belgian style bike lanes on all major COUNTY streets, and controlled access exclusive bike trails such as those in Orange County.

Revitalize the city by making it more walkable, wider sidewalks, Pedestrian friendly storefronts, etc. Redevelop the city with a mixed-use mentality, making the city overall more dense. Let's embrace vertical growth, not sprawl.

Additionally, build-out and improvement of a massive rail transportation system (subway, LRT, ) throughout the Greater LA Combined Statistical Area to the point where citizens can walk to a station from within anywhere in the area within a 15 minute walk. Other cities have been able to do this or are currently working on it (Beijing, Madrid, Paris), why can't we?
