No groundbreaking idea here. Just wanted to express a desire for more trains and rail systems. LA does have a "car culture" but that's pretty much because our rails were bought out in the 1940s.

Of course building rails in LA in 2010 is challenging... but there is certainly demand for it. I for one would like to see more rail expansions, more rapidly.

If funding is an issue, allow local residents or stakeholders to directly invest via municipal bonds. Then public demand would motivate the project.
