re: right turns while pedestrians are in the crosswalk

I wrote earlier that it might help with gridlock to allow cars to turn right after the pedestrian has moved into the lane farthest from the lane you are turning into rather than having to wait until the pedestrian reached the curb.. Someone responded that you don't have to wait. That responder was wrong. Unfortunately, it is the law that you have to wait. If you make the turn now while the pedestrian is halfway across you can be ticketed.
