Nothing kills your desire to ride the bus more than sitting around for 30 minutes waiting for it to come. Making real-time data about bus arrivals available can let riders know when the bus is actually going to come, thus wasting less time and making the bus a truly viable mobility option. Other cities (including San Francisco) have real time bus data that displays at the bus stop, and is used by many smart phone apps. When this data is available, riders can use the app to look up their bus, see when it is actually coming, and go to the bus stop then instead of waiting around.
