I live in the area of Arroyo Seco Bikeway. I am all for the alternative greener, economical bycicle projects. But the foremost thought in educating both the drivers and bikers begins, in my opinion with the safety. The majority of bikers in and around where I live, do not wear any helmets, no safety jackets or even do not have backlights in the bikes. I read the "2010 Bicycle Plan" and even on the cover, one see the bicyclist without any protective gears.

My second concern is the insurance premiums with bycicle/auto accidents, does anyone know of how will affect the premiums and insurance policies for drivers?
