With out going into too much detail, I believe separated bicycle lanes such as the many that have been added to the streets of NY, Portland, and now Chicago have shown the benefits. Since 2007 when this began in NY bicycle riding is up nearly 200%. Los Angeles needs these types of increase in riders!
