Expedite the subway extension to the VA and beyond
Expedite Expo to Santa Monica, Crenshaw to the Green Line
Expedite the Wilshire Bus Only Lane
Build a rail or BRT solution NOW through the Sepulveda Pass - that will carry passengers from the SF Valley to the Westside, LAX, and South Bay with connections to the extended Wilshire Subway, Expo and Green. The HOV lanes on the 405, etc. should be for rapid buses not Hummer carpools.
Use other existing of lapsed rail rights of way to create new rail or BRT lines - on Blvds including Venice, Ventura and Van Nuys.
Complete the downtown streetcar
Build protected bike lanes throughout the city, vs. the inadequate unprotected lanes that trucks, police and other inconsiderate drivers tend to block.
Better coordinate Metro, Big Blue Bus, Culver City Bus, Foothill Transit, etc. and make TAP a universally accepted method of payment.
Put Metro transit centers and kiosks where you can buy and refill a TAP card and obtain maps at many more locations including locations west of La Brea.
Expand publicity about Next Trip/Next Bus and provide real time transit information at bus stops throughout the county.
Build bus shelters so riders don't need to wait out in the hot sun.
Favor transit over private cars and spend the lion's share of our precious transportation dollars on transit and complete streets instead of new lanes on the freeway.
Expand incentives for employees to take transit or company vans and buses to work.
