Riding the non-Rapid buses are such a pain in the rear end sometimes. The 16/316 line down 3rd street stops every other block, sometimes more than once in a block! Each time the bus stops, cars behind it have to slow down, merge, and cause traffic jams. It also makes bus travel times longer. Decrease the amount of stops and these sudden changes in traffic flow will also decrease. I keep seeing articles online about how LA has one of the largest transportation systems in the country. The main reason always is that there is 'always a bus near your block,' that LA transportation has the greatest reach. I'd like to see how LA transportation compares in speed to other cities. Friends of mine say they'd take the bus if it was faster. But why take the bus if you could drive and get there faster! This is the problem in LA. People won't hop on the public transportation bandwagon until it competes (at the very least) and hopefully is easier and faster than taking your own cars.
