In partnership with the community and local schools, identify, develop and adopt a Comprehensive Safe Routes to School Strategic Plan (Strategic Plan). Utilize safety and accident data (SWITRS, see Data), as the underlying basis for the Citywide Safe Routes to School Strategic Plan. Further prioritization of the selection of routes should also consider: project location/near the Backbone and Neighborhood Networks, percentage of students receiving free and reduced lunch (California Department of Education) and having a high number of students that live within a two-mile radius of the school. Coordinate program with LAUSD.
