It seems very little is enforced in Los Angeles. Many times it is dangerous to drive the speed limit because it is too slow. Safety is key, second is travel time. If we make it a privilege to have a drivers license instead of just handing them out to anybody we would have a safer city that moved instead of a massive traffic jam. Whatever happened to staying to the right except to pass, or using turn signals, so many do not understand even how to merge. If every driver out there understood what it meant to drive properly we would have less accidents, less road rage, and driving might even be fun again. It would be interesting to raise the speed limit and make it available to people who take an additional driving class and test for an additional fee and have it revoked for infractions. Every year car manufacturers make cars capable of doing amazing things, but when the speed limit is 65 what difference does it make? Keep the speed limit safe and sensible in residential areas and raise them on the freeways. If we are not going to raise the limit then let's enforce them for everybody at all times and not just randomly.
