The Marina is a hot destination for cyclists, both the weekend warrior types and the locals just getting around. Admiralty way is the main street that runs around the Marina. It has an excellent protected bike path (that is also heavily used by pedestrians) on the north side of the street, but there is no easy way to get to this bike lane from the south. Also, this bike path connects to Washington Blvd., with no easy access to the Marina Peninsula. There is ample room to stripe bike lanes on both sides of the street, and the streets are heavily used by cyclists anyway. Why not make it official, and stripe bike lanes as soon as the construction on Admiralty is done?? |
