Biking to and from Downtown

To: Sunset -> Fig -> 2nd Street Tunnel -> Hill -> 6th

If you're coming from the top of the east end of Echo Park, this is how I get downtown. (You can also take Glendale, which runs fast at rush hour... where are the bike lanes?) I can tell you this: 2nd street tunnel is crazy during rush hour. Hill St. right hand lane is in terrible condition (on both sides of the street actually) but has the least amount of traffic. Always stay right on 6th, watch the recessed manhole cover on Broadway.

From: 5th -> Hill -> 2nd -> Beaudry -> Sunset

Same problem with Hill. Same problem with 2nd. Where's the bike lane on Beaudry? Where's the bike lane on Sunset? The right turn to Elysian Park Blvd. is hairy as cars bypassing the freeway are rocketing up Sunset at 55 mph and want you to clear out of the way (you just climbed a steady 1/2 mile incline so you're a bit slow) so they can take the backroads to the 5.

WHERE ARE THE BIKE LANES CONNECTING TO DOWNTOWN?
