Just a suggestion for any Metro employees reading this site. 1-800-COMMUTE was set up to assist transit riders answer questions about transit routes, schedules and problems. Please tell me why, on the day most long-term, regularly scheduled special events take place - Sundays - is this call-in assistance line closed and unavailable. The LA Marathon, three LA half-marathons, and multiple CicLAvia days every year close almost all major streets in their respective neighborhoods, and cause major re-route issues for public transit all over greater LA (except maybe the Valley), yet the days this phone line is most needed, it is closed. Why would you think this is a good idea, and why haven't you, dear Metro, done anything about it? The bus operators as well as the Metro supervisors are always caught off-guard and confused, even though multiple meetings between LAPD, LAFD, LADOT and Metro are held in advance of each event. WTF is that? Sometimes, not always, but sometimes, re-route schedules will be posted at affected bus stops. You, Metro, know as well as I do that all it takes is one person taking that single sheet of paper with the re-route schedules for their own nefarious purposes (or so they don't have to memorize the revised schedules/stops), and your notice to your customers is gone. Please, please, please remedy this and keep the 1-800-COMMUTE line open on Sundays during special events, so I don't have to answer crying transit riders with "I don't know, call 1-800-COMMUTE", only to be told by the riders that they tried and the line was not available on Sundays. Fix this at your soonest convenience, please.

Thanks.
