Shocking and impossible? Think again. San Francisco, Portland and Milwaukee are just some of the lucky cities in America enjoying the profound peace and quiet free from these 'relics of a bygone era', and plenty of other cities are joining in. The community killing physical barriers, noise pollution, and health hazards aside, freeways aren't really as critical, as important, or even as useful as we have been led to believe, in fact they are mostly just destructive. Start by reading the linked paper, or watching the video, then begin imagining what we could do with all that reclaimed space!
