Westwood Blvd. and Le Conte has an ingenious and effective traffic flow solution: a pedestrian only light interval that allows pedestrians to cross in all directions including diagonally. Implementing this crosswalk signalling at other major intersections such as Westwood and Wilshire, Venice and Lincoln, etc. would help pedestrians and vehicles alike. For example, vehicles would be able to turn right more frequently because they wouldn't be waiting for pedestrians to cross because pedestrians would have their own cycle. It is simple and effective.
