Currently adopted suburban-scale street standards widen streets making them less safe. When roads are widened, cars go faster, crossing distances get longer and worse for pedestrians, and other safety issues. Widenings tear down historic bridges and buildings. End all road widening in L.A. City. Retool city's street standards to allow for walkable, human-scale streets.
